The international 48 Hour Film Project was first conceived in 2001; it was designed to answer a curious question: can a watchable film be made in two days? Scheduled for October, the KL leg of this year’s 48 Hour Film Project expects to be “a very good platform for talented Malaysian filmmakers to demonstrate their creativity”, to audiences both in Malaysia and abroad. How it works: participating teams have exactly 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and score a short film (maximum length: seven minutes). Each participating team selects the genre of their celluloid masterpiece from a random draw, right before the start of the competition. They are furnished with a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue that must appear in the finished movie also. The winning KL team (selected by a panel of judges) will go on to represent Malaysia in the 48 Hour Film Project finals at Filmapalooza 2012 .
